Summer Heat

I’ve always been one that agrees with the statement…”Be careful what you ask for” and for those of you that were freezing during last winter and you begged for it to warm up, I hope this is NOT what you were asking for! There are times when it’s difficult to even breathe outdoors because the heat is so intense and the humidity is so thick! Hopefully, we get some relief from the heat soon. I cannot wait for cool fall evenings and football!

Last week we had the “unofficial” start to the college football season with SEC Media Days in Atlanta. In addition to that, I submitted my annual request for voice liners from Eli Gold, the voice of The Crimson Tide, so you can definitely feel the start of college football coming soon!

Biscuits are on the road this week so I get a little bit of a break.

Have a great week!

All-Star week

The Montgomery Biscuits begin the annual All-Star week today so that gives me a couple more days to relax before the weekend series begins with The Mississippi Braves on Friday. It’s only a 3 game series and actually for me it will only be 2 games. I will be at the Wetumpka River and Blues festival on Saturday serving as emcee so my fill-in, Andy King, will be there at the stadium to cover for me.

It should a pretty routine week at the radio station. Nothing out of the ordinary or strange happening this week so I am looking forward to it!

Have a great week!

A new pillow helps!

As most of you know from my radio show, I have been dealing with chronic neck pain for almost a year now and I am being treated for it by my doctor and a chiropractor. We are making good progress in relieving the pain with medication and the adjustments BUT I recently discovered something that has helped tremendously…a new pillow! Now, this isn’t just an ordinary pillow, it’s the Eli and Elm Side Sleeper Pillow. This thing is amazing! It’s designed for people like me that sleep on my side because it conforms to the precise contours of my head and neck. Plus, it can be adjusted to any desired height and support with the removable latex and polyester filling. It also comes with an interior liner that makes it easy to wash. I have tried different types of pillows to help my neck but NONE of them have done what this pillow has. I HIGHLY recommend this pillow!

My voice!

Well, after a long week of covering 2 radio shows and then announcing 6 baseball games at the stadium, my voice is paying the price. I am dealing with a bit of laryngitis but hopefully after some rest and LOTS of medication I can heal. So, with that being said, I am taking Monday off the air and Kelley Stone will fill in for me.

I am looking forward to catching the new Thor movie sometime this week. I’m not sure if my wife will join me or not. She is not as big of a fan of Marvel movies like I am but we will see. After seeing Maverick twice in the movie theater, I am waiting on it to come to streaming services so I can watch it over and over at home! 🙂

Have a great week!

4th of July!

I hope you had a great time with friends and family over the 4th of July weekend! I know I did! My wife and I hosted all of our kids and grandkids, although we missed my daughter Jade. We went swimming, cooked out a feast for lunch and then went to the Biscuits game to see them win and watch some fireworks. Of course, I had to work in the press box but it was an awesome night!

Speaking of the Biscuits, they are back in town for another 6-game series with the Biloxi Shuckers. After a rare Monday night game, the schedule resumes on Wednesday through Sunday with the “off day” being on Tuesday this time. Hope to see you at the ballpark this week!

Have a great week!
