What's the latest with Rick Hendrick?

Parris Island

This week I will be with the Marine Corps workshop at Parris Island, SC. There will be teachers, guidance counselors, principals, influential members of the community and media (ME). The teachers and staff will get a first hand view of what the recruits go through in boot camp and the media will be there to document it.

The Biscuits are back in town on Tuesday and my good friend, Andy King, will be filling in for me at the stadium this week.

Have a great week!

What a weekend!

I’ve had some pretty busy weekends before but I think this past weekend has to rank high on the “busy” scale. Saturday, I made an appearance at The Harley Davidson Shop for the “Show Up & Show Out” for Autism event that morning. I left there and headed to Century Church in Pike Road for their 11th annual Crawfish Boil and then I made my way downtown to the Union Station Trainshed for the Vance Law Firm “Show At The Shed” to benefit The Make A Wish Foundation. Oh yeah, I had Biscuits games on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon plus a live interview in the studio after the game ended on Sunday. Whew! The Biscuits are on the road this week as Riverwalk will host the Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament. My good friend, Andy King, will do most the games but I will step in for him on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Looking forward to a night off tonight to spend some time with my wife and catch up on some of our binge shows!

Have a great week!

Mother’s Day weekend

Hello everyone! I hope that the past weekend was a good one and, if you were able, that you got to spend time with your mother for Mother’s Day. My mother is in Washington DC with my sister so I got a chance to FaceTime with her and it made her smile and me as well. My wife, Missy, lost her mom a few years ago so we went to visit her grave site and tell her “Happy Mother’s Day”.

The Montgomery Biscuits are back in town for a 6-game series with the Mississippi Braves starting this Tuesday May 16th. There are a lot of Braves fans in this town so I anticipate seeing a lot of folks out this week looking at the future stars for the Braves. I look at their current roster and see a lot of former Mississippi Braves that I had the chance to see and announce at Riverwalk Stadium.

Hope you have a great week!

And that’s a wrap!

Yesterday at Riverwalk Stadium the Montgomery Biscuits wrapped up the longest homestand of the 2023 season. We played 12 games in this homestand, 6 versus Pensacola and 6 versus Biloxi with a day off in between. Also included in that homestand were 2 day games which helped to break the monotony but none the less it was 12 games total. The team is on the road at Tennessee before returning next Tuesday night, May 16th, to welcome the Mississippi Braves to town.

I had the distinct pleasure to DJ the wedding of a dear friends daughter this past weekend on Lake Martin. It was a beautiful day and the wedding was near perfect. Thank you Joey for allowing me to be there for your daughter, Farrah. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Although the Montgomery Biscuits are on the road this week, I will be back at the stadium on Tuesday as we host The Troy Trojans and the Alabama Crimson Tide. It will be good to see some of the Troy staff that I had the pleasure of working with over the last few months as I did PA for a few games to help out my friend Andy King.

Hope you have a great week!

12 in a row…sort of

The Montgomery Biscuits are in the middle of a 12 game homestand. We just finished a 6-game series with The Pensacola Blue Wahoos and it wasn’t so good. We won the 1st game on Tuesday and then proceeded to lose the next 5! Now, Monday is a day off so there is a break which is why it’s “technically” not 12 in a row. On Tuesday, the Biloxi Shuckers are in town for another 6-game series so let’s hope that the results are better.

My 6th grandchild, Aleida, is 1 year old today and it’s hard to believe that a whole year has gone by! We celebrated on yesterday at my son’s house.

Hope you have a great week!
